Camp Muscatawa has more than a century of stories. Founded in 1913 as a sprawling summer camp for New York City kids, it became a Girl Scout camp from 1948 to 1983, and the original buddy board from their water sports program still hangs by the lake. After a period of vacancy left the camp in disrepair, the current owner purchased and rebuilt much of it in 1983, then raised his own children here. Now the property is open to families who want a place to gather, watch the stars, and create beautiful Maine memories. Sleeping Accommodations: Four Buildings - Each building is impeccably outfitted and comfortably furnished. All three cottages are just a two-minute walk from the Main House, so the group stays close together. Dining and Gathering The Main House has two kitchens and an extra freezer, making it easy to store and prepare food for a large group. The dining area at the Main House accommodates up to 26 guests so the whole group can share meals together. Down by the shore, a refrigerator and freezer in the shed next to the outdoor shower keep drinks and snacks close to the water. Two docks offer different depths, a shallow swimming area off the first dock (3.5 feet) and a deep dock (8 feet), so swimmers from little ones to adults can each find their spot. An outdoor shower makes rinsing off easy.
